Members of the Rochester Fire Department declared a working fire upon arrival at a boarded-up building, but eventually upgraded it to a three-alarm fire.
Crews on scene told News 8 WROC that the fire occurred at the same structure that was damaged Friday as a result of a vehicle blaze that was caught on video.
Officials say the building had been boarded up since that Friday incident and that utilities were supposed to be shut off.
Despite that, a person was found inside.
That person was rescued and transported to a hospital with injuries.
News 8 crew members reported the fire was spreading throughout the structure and firefighters had to cut the roof to gain access to the second and third floors.
Units were soon evacuated and defensive tactics were employed.
Officials have yet to determine what started the fire.
